EX30: compact city companion

Volvo’s smallest SUV suits drivers who value easy parking and a minimalist cabin. The 2026 EX30 offers an estimated range of up to 420 km in a specified Single Motor Extended Range configuration. For drivers seeking stronger acceleration, the available Twin Motor Performance produces up to 422 hp and can reach 100 km/h from a standstill in a stated 3.6 seconds; its range differs from the single-motor version. This chic and compact Volvo is the winner of numerous design awards.

EX40: familiar SUV versatility

If you like the upright shape and everyday usefulness of a compact SUV, start here. The 2026 EX40 offers an estimated range of up to 418 km in the Twin Motor version. Its flexible cargo area makes it easy to accommodate groceries, sports gear and the changing demands of a busy week. The right amount of room and the right amount of luxury make the EX40 a great option for households with small families or large dogs. 

EC40: a sleeker take on the compact crossover

The 2026 EC40 pairs a lower, coupe-inspired roofline with performance-inspired proportions and Scandinavian sophistication. This is one for the design lovers. Volvo Canada lists an estimated range of up to 431 km for the Twin Motor version. Compare it with the EX40 in person to see which roofline and cargo shape work better for you. 

EX90: room for a larger crew.

The EX90 brings three-row space to Volvo’s electric range, offering 

seven-seat practicality, advanced safety technology, and a luxurious Scandinavian cabin. Volvo Canada lists up to 499 km of estimated range and up to 510 hp for the Twin Motor Performance specification shown on its Canadian site. It's the model to explore when passenger room is a priority. The Volvo EX90 won the World Luxury Car award in 2025 and the Car Expert Choice Award for Best Luxury EV in 2026.

EX60: the new midsize choice.

Upscale and sleek, the EX60 fills the space between Volvo’s compact electric SUVs and the EX90. Volvo Canada estimates up to 531 km of range for the P10 AWD with specified 20- or 21-inch all-season tires – the longest range of any vehicle in Volvo's electric fleet. Its 800-volt architecture supports a stated 10-to-80% charge in approximately 18 minutes at a 400 kW DC fast charger under suitable conditions. The EX60 was just named the 2026 Best of the Year Award Winner.

How will they perform in a Calgary winter?

Volvo tests their vehicles for cold weather performance north of the Arctic Circle to ensure they deliver in all seasons and in all climates. While Calgary's cold weather can certainly reduce driving range and slow charging, Volvo's live range estimate predicts how much distance you have left based on real-time driving conditions, weather, and recent driving behaviour.

For traction on snow and ice, choose appropriate winter tires for your vehicle. Available all-wheel drive can help you get moving, but tire grip and driving conditions still govern braking and steering.
